South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has alleged that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas, were not hospitable to guests at their official residence in Karen.
Speaking publicly, Osoro claimed that even MPs from Gachagua’s Mt. Kenya stronghold found it difficult to access the Karen residence. Many, he said, were kept waiting at the gate for hours, only to leave without meeting the DP.
He further alleged that when a visitor was finally allowed in, Pastor Dorcas would often ask, “Have you come for money?”—a remark he described as dismissive and unwelcoming.
Osoro contrasted this with President William Ruto’s tenure as deputy president, recalling how Karen and Harambee House were open spaces for MPs. He claimed that under Ruto, leaders would meet, discuss national issues, and even share a meal before leaving.
Taking a jab at Gachagua’s leadership, Osoro sarcastically remarked that after he took office, “even the grass in Karen grew taller,” highlighting how inaccessible the residence had become.
His statements have sparked mixed reactions, with some Kenyans agreeing while others defend Pastor Dorcas.
