‘MPs Have Changed Their Stand on Govt Bill’ Mbadi Reveals What’ll Happen During Voting

ODM MP John Mbadi now says that several MPs have made a u-turn on the financial bill.

Mbadi says that some legislators had changed their stand after President William Ruto’s declaration that he was keeping an eye on the progression of the bill.

He urged Legislators in the National Assembly to focus on representing the people and not follow their President Ruto’s demands.

On Thursday, ODM leader Raila Odinga told Ruto to review the bill. He stated that Ruto should not grow the size of the budget but rather cut it down and live within the means.

Raila added that the President should stop non-essential government expenditures the appointment of Chief Administrative Secretaries.

He wants Ruto to reduce the size of the government and cut non-essential Domestic and international travel.

Deputy Rigathi Gachagua earlier took a wipe at Azimio leader, who called for a drop of the Finance Bill 2023 altogether, saying, “Even if you make noise and put sufurias on your head, even if you reject the bill, thinking it won’t pass, you don’t have the numbers and that’s the truth, it will pass.”
