Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has this evening, 26 March, issued a statement, alleging that there is a plan of attacking Azimio protestors and leaders during their Monday demos.
According to Raila, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is reportedly planning to deploy goons in different parts of the country, and then instruct them to target Azimio leaders during protests.
Raila has noted that there is a house next to the Bomas of Kenya and another house on Hillcrest Drive, where he noted that armoury and command centres have been set up, which will b reportedly be used to coordinate the said attack against Azimio leaders and supporters
“To realize his evil and bloody plans against otherwise peaceful protesters, Mr Gachagua has set up an armoury and command centres in two different locations at a house next to the Bomas of Kenya that belongs to a former Cabinet Secretary and another on Hillcrest Drive, Nairobi, belonging to a serving Cabinet Secretary,” Raila said, adding that two above homes are now being used to stock weapons which will be used by alleged goons.
Transportation of goon and weapons
Raila has also alleged that the DP has already coordinated cars camouflaged as ambulances which are being used to deploy the said goons as well the weapons to areas where the attacks will take place.
“These weapons are being ferried to the venue in a vehicle camouflaged as St. Mary’s Ambulance.
“Some of the vehicles deployed for this operation are KBQ 721J, KAZ 432F and KBM 771Z, among others,” Raila added
He noted that some goons have already been moved to the Western part of the country and the Nyanza region, and reportedly booked in key hotels ahead of tomorrow.
He said that some of the targeted leaders are Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Edwin Sifuna, Jeremiah Kioni and Opiyo Wandayi.
Raila has since noted that DP Gachagua should be held responsible should anything happen to Azimio leaders and their supporters
