Maurice Ochieng, alias Danny Miles, man who warmed the hearts of many netizens after he sought Safaricom assistance for his daughter, has died.
Announcing the news of his death, Danny’s wife Florence Odege told NTV that Danny lost his life on Tuesday night at 9:55 pm.
Danny had been ailing for long having been diagnosed with cancer some years back.
He shot to public domain on January 19, 2023, when he shared a heart-warming update on Safaricom’s Facebook page, recounting his situation and pleading for assistance.
In the then Facebook update, he revealed that he had been ill with soft tissue sarcoma in March 2022 and had been fighting hard to do little savings for his family. He had wished to take them on a tour and admit her girl to secondary school, but his illness had finished all his monies.
Danny’s Facebook text to Safaricom’s touched many lives and the update trended on social media, with many Kenyans offering to assist him and his family.
In addition to the assistance on social media, Kenyans also pledge to assist Danny Miles and his family in a many ways. After Danny gave out a paybill number, many people contributed to see he went to hospital and pay his medical bills.
However, his condition continued to worsen, and he was last month admitted at St. Monica Hospital in Kisumu after developing breathing complications.
