Popular Kameme FM presenter Gatonye Wa Mbugua has come out to encourage his colleague Chef Gathemba after he was ridiculed on social media.
A social user identified as Moni Mambo mocked Gathemba saying he is a wannabe comedian with zero saying she always changes the station when he is on air.
Gathemba, whose real name is Jeremiah Nyaga Njoroge, felt hurt by the comment and hinted at doing away with comedy to venture in other economic activities.
“Why don’t you ever tell me the truth so that I stop this comedy and look for another job,” he posted on Facebook obviously pained for being described as a “useless fellow”.
Gatonye, who is the head of radio at Kameme FM, told Gathemba to ignore the comment saying he had so many fans who loved him and should not be discouraged because of just one negative individual.
“I will tell you something important. Everyone is work in progress. We push our limits everyday. There is nothing like perfection. It’s a journey with no destination. Keep doing what you do. Be consistent. You are doing well,” he said.
“So many people would want to be where you are. Some people will want to pull you down no matter what you do. Ignore them and soldier on. Believe you me, there are so many who love what you do. Am one of them. And, btw you are perfect the way you are. There is nothing I would change about you,” Gatonye added.
Muoroto FM presenter Wakarindi Wa Ndiithi also cheered up Gathemba telling him not to get dispirited by people who were being jealous of his talent and job.
“Huyu ni ex .. checked the account na Iko na 32 followers.. you are amazing, don’t let anyone bring you down bro.. keep going,” she posted.
Gathemba hosts Thingira Wa Kameme Show alongside Kamau Wa Kamlesh from Monday to Thursday from 9pm to 12 midnight.
