List of 10 Cooking Oils Suspended by KEBS For Not Meeting Quality Standards

The Kenya Beaureu of Standards has today listed several edible oils as non-compliant and Kenya Consumers and customers are urged to immediately stop using the various listed cooking oils in the market.

According to the KEBS, they sampled and analyzed samples of the edible oils from the market which were assessed and were found to have failed to meet the quality standards required. In its recommendation, the Quality Standards agency stated that it’s not banning the use off the listed products but they are temporarily suspended to protect consumers from unsafe products.

Among the products listed are

1. Rina Cooking Oil

2. Fresh Fri Oill

3. Fry Mate Cooking Oil

4. Tilly Cooking Oil

5. Top Fry Cooking Oil

6. Salit Cooking.

7. Bahari Fry Cooking Oil.

8. Postman Cooking Oil.

9. Gold and Pure Olive Oil

10. Fresh Fry With Garlic Oil.

“EDIBLE OILS industry has been terrorising the Central Bank of Kenya over dollars yet they import poison into the country. For consumers who can afford, we recommend Elianto, Rinsun and other oils not listed by Kenya Beaureu of Standards” stated Consumer Federation of Kenya.
