A woman identified as Kate wa Gladys through her Facebook page has reportedly been nabbed after she allegedly conned Kenyan women millions of cash through online chama. According to sources that know her, she started her swindling business back in 2013 but she was busted and exposed.
She then went silent and came back with a new name but with the same trick of swindling unsuspecting women their hard earned cash. The woman is said to be having her loyalists whom she places as admins her groups. Those admins are responsible for cover up such as they are blamed for defaulting from paying other members.
Through acting as if the admins have defaulted from paying, Kate wa Gladys will pretend as if she is following up with those who default as a sign of her being responsible. Unsuspecting women will continue being patient and trusting Kate wa Gladys thinking that she is fighting for them.
However, it looks like some women have learnt of her tricks whereby she finally ends up deleting the whole group or blocking everyone who tries to question what she is doing. According to various complainants, they claim they used to pay about Ksh.20,000 monthly in their online chama headed by Kate wa Gladys. It is believed that Ms Gladys was trying to flee with money worth ksh.10 million belonging to her members before she was apprehended. She is expected to face the law.
