Kenya Kwanza frontman and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party presidential candidate William Ruto, followed the course of ODM ODM leader Raila Amollo Odinga and Roots Party leader George Wajackoya in unveiling his political manifestos. He promised to tackle 5 main areas once he assume the country’s top seat.
Speaking during the launch of his manifesto at Kasarani Stadium on Thursday, 30 June, the Deputy President noted that an economic policy should ensure capital in a manner that benefits many people and the entire country at large.
DP Ruto noted that the bottom-up economic model will be spearheaded towards reducing the cost of living, fighting hunger, creating job opportunities, expand tax base, among others.
To ensure smooth service delivery and achieve all these targets, the Kenya Kwanza team settled on five to six main pillars towards economic revolutionary and price subsidies, they includes:
1.Agriculture; offer capital to farmers and reduce over dependence on basic foods imports.
2.Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) economy;
3.Housing and Settlement; establish settlement fund and increase mortgage from30,000 to 1 million.
4.Healthcare; fully finance all public healthcare, NHIF to be primary cover etc.
5.Digital superhighway and creative economy; establish film fund.
6.Environment and climate change.
7. Education; pay the inservice training teachers and review curent exam-based system.
