It is just a matter of days before kenyans exercise their democratic rights as they vote in the fourth coming general elections to be held in August this year. Among the counties that could be hotly contested, is Nairobi County, especially with the entrance of Polycarp Igathe who is supported by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Movement. Polycarp Igathe is the former deputy governor for Nairobi County.
But in as much as he looks to be on the right track, he has received a stern warning from the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga’s ally. According to Dikembe Disembe, he acknowledged the fact that Polycarp Igathe has a bright future and could be regarded among the next generation of leaders. But he was quick to point out that his war on Kikuyu greed may be his early ethnic downfall if he doesn’t become careful. Polycarp Igathe will be facing Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja for the Nairobi County gubernatorial race.
“If Polycarp Igathe runs Nairobi well, he may just be on his way to the presidency. He appears to me, in part, to be in the group of people you call ‘next generation’ of leaders. But his war on ‘Kikuyu greed’ (and he’s right on that too) may be his early ‘ethnic’ downfall.” Tweeted by Dikembe Disembe
