These men went ahead to create an account that bore her name and they were shamelessly asking the fans for money. The number that was on display was claimed to be Maria’ s. Social media statements claimed that they were contacted using this number; 0776922377. One netizen went on to admit that after his check on true caller showed that the constant belonged to a person known as Maria Citizen.

The actress however came out strongly to defend herself and denied the allegations against her. She went ahead to caution her followers not to send money to con men. She went ahead to make it clear that she is not doing any Indomine advertisements and that she is not using Facebook or Whatsapp to advertise any products.

She also insisted that she is not asking any people for any auditions. She sympathized with the fans that had already become victims of the extortion scheme. She went ahead and said that she can never share her number on her public platforms.
