Former Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo has reacted to the viral reports of Kinoo’s almost collapsing building.
According the reports, the building is currently in unstable condition, leaning towards an adjacent apartment raising concerns of the occupants.
Government officers have been deployed to facilitate evacuation of the tenants in the adjacent apartment for their safety.
Taking to the social media, an online user identified as Michael Ngereso wondered who was to blame under such circumstances.
“Another building collapses in Kinoo muthiga in the dead of night. What is happening and who’s to blame for such incidents?” He passed.
Kabogo responded to him claiming that such incidents are avoidable.
“This can be avoided,” he reacted.
Last year, a number of buildings collapsed in Kiambu County, raising concerns on the departments responsible.
The county’s Governor Dr James Nyoro had announced that engineers from the County will do a thorough assessment of the constructions in the region and all buildings which do not conform with the set standards would be demolished.
