The drama and controversies surrounding the death of the late Ghanaian Highlife icon, Daddy Lumba, continue to unfold as new details emerge following the musician’s demise.

In a recent development, Charlyn Fosu, daughter of the late Daddy Lumba, has filed a misjoinder at the Kumasi High Court, praying the court to remove her name from the letters of administration filed by her mother, Akosua Serwaa and the late musician’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu.

It may be recalled that the children of the late musician, in a statement reported by GhanaWeb on January 21, 2026, debunked social media claims that their mother had forged Charlyn Fosu’s name and credentials in the court documents without her knowledge.

In that press statement, the children indicated that they were in solidarity with their mother and that reports suggesting Akosua Serwaa and Ernestina Fosu had falsified Charlyn Fosu’s name to manage and distribute the late singer’s properties were untrue.

In a further development, Charlyn Fosu formally filed the misjoinder at the Kumasi High Court on January 26, 2026, seeking the removal of her name from the letters of administration.

Speaking to the media after court proceedings on January 26, 2026, Enoch Afoakwa, lawyer for Charlyn Fosu, disclosed that the Kumasi High Court had ruled in favour of his client.

According to him, the court granted the application and ordered that his client’s name be struck out of the letters of administration.

“We are here because Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, and his sister, Ernestina Fosu, filed letters of administration to manage the musician’s estate, and in that document, they included Charlyn Fosu’s name.

“But Charlyn Fosu, together with the other 10 children, did not agree to apply for letters of administration. Per their decision, even if any child is to be included, they support Calvin Fosu as the appropriate person to do so,” he said.

The lawyer further noted that the children of the late Daddy Lumba desire peace and are, therefore, appealing to both spouses to resolve their differences amicably.

“She wished the controversies had died down so the family could appreciate the legacy their father left behind before his demise. She added that if the children are to appoint someone to lead the legal process, it should be the male-born,” he added.
