Valentino Nortey was the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle in the 2024 Election
The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Valentino Nortey, has reportedly been arrested in the United States over a stabbing incident.
According to a report by abc27.com, the former parliamentary candidate is accused of stabbing a woman during a domestic incident along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
He has been charged with attempted homicide, possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with/fabricating physical evidence.
The report indicated that public records at the Dauphin County Prison show that Nortey was denied bail after he was arraigned before the court.
It added that the accused person will appear before the court again on January 26, 2026, when the preliminary hearing starts.
The police are also reported to have said that the woman was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Valentino Nortey lost the 2024 parliamentary election to Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress.
He became the parliamentary candidate of the NPP after beating Philip Kojo Addo Addison and Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah in the party’s primaries.

Attempted homicide charges filed after Dauphin County stabbing
[11:38 AM, 1/20/2026] Ishmael Batoma: DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A stabbing over the weekend in Dauphin County left a woman hospitalised and another man facing charges, according to police.
Valentino Nortey, 41, of Harrisburg, faces attempted homicide, possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use and tamper with/fabricate physical evidence from the Saturday, Jan. 17, stabbing incident, Lower Paxton Township Police confirmed Monday.
According to police, the woman was stabbed during a domestic incident along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township around 10 a.m. After first responders arrived, the woman was taken to the hospital, where police said she is in stable condition.
Further details about the incident remain limited at this time, but police added that there was never any threat to the public.
Online court records show Nortey is in Dauphin County Prison after he was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 26.
