General Fannie Drop A Sh0cking Bombshell That Shake SA

The National Commissioner General of the South African Police Service (SAPS), Fannie Masemola, who had been suspended after criminal charges were formally dropped, has stated his desire to resume his duties and continue serving his country.

The allegations against Masemola concerning the controversial R360 million Medicare24 tender were dropped during his brief appearance on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court. These claims originated with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

Masemola thanked the people who supported him during what he described as a difficult and sad period while speaking to the media outside of court.

Masemola has stated his desire to serve his country again, but he has also said that his employer will determine his next steps.

In accordance with what had been previously stated by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Andy Mothibi, the National Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate, reviewed the case and directed the withdrawal of the charges. The NPA found no evidence that would support a successful prosecution.

Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala’s company was awarded the SAPS healthcare tender, and Masemola was suspended due to allegations that the tender was not adequately supervised.

His reinstatement to the military is still pending a decision from the relevant authorities. In the meanwhile, Masemola has signaled his readiness to return to South Africa’s team.

When Masemola formally became the head of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in 2022, he took an oath to serve his country with devotion, courage, honor, and distinction.
