The incident happened on the D1296 between the R555 and R37 via Mangabane, prompting the complete closure of the road.
Information from the scene indicates that the front trailer’s bin was displaced during the crash and fell off the bridge towards the river.

The truck’s chassis remained connected to the rear trailer, which is still positioned on the bridge, leaving the vehicle partially suspended above the river.
The condition of the driver is currently not known.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has confirmed that the D1296 is closed to traffic following the truck incident. The road will remain closed until the truck can be safely recovered.
Motorists are advised not to attempt to use the affected section and to make use of alternative routes.

Traffic travelling from the R37 should join the R555 towards Burgersfort.
Motorists travelling from Steelpoort should continue towards Burgersfort before joining the R37.
The department has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, plan their journeys and follow the recommended alternative routes.
At the time of publication, there was no further official update on the driver’s condition or the recovery operation.
