Linda Ocloo is the Greater Accra Regional Minister
The Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, has vowed to ensure the permanent closure of St Olives Grammar School, formerly known as Happy Home School, at Dodowa.
The decision follows reports that the school relocated from its original premises without informing the appropriate regulatory authorities.
The school has also come under intense public scrutiny after an alleged abuse incident involving an eight-year-old pupil.
“All students should be removed from the school to ensure its closure,” the minister stated.
Education Minister to close down non-performing schools
According to a report by citinewsroom.com on January 15, 2026, the young girl risks having her leg amputated after her boarding housemistress allegedly immersed her legs in a bucket of hot water as punishment.
Reacting to the development, Linda Ocloo issued a strong warning to parents who still have wards enrolled at the school, urging them to immediately withdraw their children.
“If you have your ward there, please just go and take care of your ward. If you can’t even take care of your ward, look for a relative to take care of him or her,” she urged.
She cautioned that parents who ignore the warning would bear responsibility should any harm befall their children.

“So, if you are watching and you still leave your ward there or your child there, and something happens, I believe no one is going to blame anybody,” she added.
Linda Ocloo stressed that parents must act swiftly to protect their children.
“I believe by now parents should make sure that every child should leave that school, so that school will be empty,” she said.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations into both the alleged abuse case and the school’s operations as part of efforts to safeguard the welfare of children in the region.
