A disturbing video of male Senior High School students has surfaced on social media, appearing to show them displaying charms they claim serve as fortification.

The videos are believed to capture students from two different schools, reportedly Islamic Senior High School and Sakafia Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Charms of different types and styles were also displayed, with some seemingly worn beneath their attire and others brandished openly.

According to reports accompanying the video, which was shared on January 14, 2026, the students are alleged to be fortifying themselves ahead of what has been described as a purported inter–high school clash.

The incident has since sparked massive reactions from Ghanaian netizens, many of whom expressed concerns over what they believe could reflect a growing rate of indiscipline among students in schools.

Critics who have condemned the actions of the students suggest that they may have strayed from their morals and subjected themselves to acts of indiscipline, some of which are believed to have led certain students into trouble.

There have been calls for immediate action from the authorities to help prevent any possible escalation, while others have also suggested that the students be expelled.

My cousin’s school in the west had an inter-school fight with a rival school and one Hausa boy threw his handkerchief in the air & caught a cutlass, used it to slice Bayo’s right arms… Till today Bayo is one-armed …He’s now married & might see this … https://t.co/67fajmx1wX

This is what the older generation has taught them.
Our politicians encourage people who do this without understanding the implications it’s going to have on the new generation https://t.co/PBjX7TazTR

Wei even the inter schools if you win it , it won’t take you anywhere. You do all these in the name of chaos and fights at the venue. I thank God i didn’t have to witness stupidity like this during my time in SHS

These things are the beginning of some of the youth’s madness… And the whole population would be worried about such a person, “a young boy and he has gotten mad”. This is the beginning of it. May the Good Allah see them through. 😭😭😭😭

This is extremely troubling. They have turned inter-school activities into a frightening experience for vulnerable students. Their actions cause fights everywhere, leaving people injured far too often. This is unacceptable, and security agencies should deal with such individuals.
