- In-kind contribution of 600 pairs of footwear and 1,520 Peace T-shirts strengthens Ghana’s nationwide drive for grassroots participation and talent discovery.
ACCRA, 18 AUGUST 2026 — The Ghana–Anhui Chamber of Commerce and Industry has delivered a major boost to Ghana’s grassroots sports development agenda with the donation of 2,120 sports items to the National Sports Authority’s Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee (RMPC).
Presented at a ceremony at ESP Hotel in Labone, Accra, the contribution comprised 600 pairs of footwear—including Peace canvas sneakers and casual shoes—and 1,520 Peace T-shirts in adult unisex sizes ranging from XS to 3XL.

Beyond the clothing and footwear, the intervention represents a direct investment in the central mission of the nationwide Constituency Games: to take structured sporting opportunities to every community, remove barriers to participation and create a credible pathway for identifying and developing talent across Ghana.
The Games are being positioned as a community-driven national platform through which young people can participate, demonstrate their abilities and progress from the constituency level to regional and national competition.
Speaking at the ceremony, RMPC Chairman Samson Deen commended the Ghana–Anhui Chamber for becoming an early partner in the national effort to rebuild Ghanaian sport from the grassroots.
“This is not merely a donation. It is an investment in Ghana’s young people and in the government’s Reset Ghana Sports Agenda,” Mr Deen said.

“No child should be denied the opportunity to participate in sport because of their location, economic circumstances or background. That is the central purpose of the Constituency Games: to take opportunity to every constituency and create a pathway through which talent can be identified, nurtured and developed.”
Mr Deen said Ghana possessed enormous sporting potential but required effective structures, credible partnerships and sustained investment to transform that potential into national and international success.
“With the right systems, credible partnerships and sustained investment, Ghanaian sport can once again take centre stage and project our country positively to the world,” he stated.
He called on corporate Ghana, diplomatic missions, development institutions and individuals to follow the Chamber’s example by supporting a programme intended to reach young people in every part of the country.

Chairman of the Ghana–Anhui Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tang Wei, said the donation formed part of the Chamber’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to contributing to Ghana’s development.
“Sport is a powerful force that brings people together, promotes peace and strengthens communities,” he said.
“We hope these items will serve their intended purpose and create meaningful opportunities for young people. We remain ready to support this important national initiative whenever we are called upon.”
The Chamber’s intervention strengthens the emerging partnership between Ghana’s sports sector and the Chinese business community and demonstrates how private-sector support can help expand access to sporting opportunities at the community level.

The donation follows the inauguration of the NSA Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee and the launch of its partnership and donations initiative, through which private-sector, institutional and international support is being mobilised for the Constituency Games.
Under the guiding vision, “Uniting Communities, Inspiring Talent and Building the Future,” the Games will place partnership, transparency, community ownership, inclusion and excellence at the heart of their implementation.
The programme seeks to ensure that promising young people are not excluded from sport because of where they live, their economic circumstances or the backgrounds into which they were born.
For the Ghana–Anhui Chamber, the 2,120-item contribution is an investment in peace, opportunity and national development. For the Constituency Games, it provides an important early pool of clothing and footwear as organisers build a constituency-to-national pathway for participation and talent development.
Above all, it advances a clear national promise: Ghana’s next sporting champion could be found in any community—and no talent must be left behind.
