Mankranso (Ash), Aug. 16, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Police Command has pledged to deploy additional personnel to the Ahafo Ano South West District once adequate accommodation is provided for officers in the area.

Commissioner of Police (COP) Osei Akoto Arthur, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, gave the assurance when he paid a working visit to Mr Abubakar Sedik, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, to discuss security and deepen collaboration between the Police and the District Assembly.

The visit focused on security concerns in the district and measures to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.

COP Arthur commended the DCE and the Assembly for their continued support for the activities of the Ghana Police Service, saying such collaboration was essential to maintaining law and order and protecting residents and businesses.

He said the Police Service remained committed to working with the Assembly and other stakeholders to improve security in the district.

A key issue discussed was the need for adequate accommodation for police personnel.

The District Police Command disclosed plans to construct staff quarters to provide decent accommodation for personnel and improve operational effectiveness.

Mr Sedik pledged the Assembly’s support for the project and expressed readiness to collaborate with the Police Service to mobilise the necessary resources for its implementation.

COP Arthur said the provision of accommodation would enhance the Service’s capacity to post more personnel to the district.

He therefore assured the DCE that additional officers would be deployed once the staff quarters were completed.

Mr Sedik commended the District Police Commander and his Second-in-Command for their professionalism and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the district.

He praised the Police for their prompt response to security concerns and assured them of the Assembly’s continued support.
