Banks and financial institutions have been urged to adopt more flexible financing models for technology startups, with government arguing that innovation requires patient capital to achieve scale.

Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, says startups should not be subjected to the same financing models as traditional industrial businesses.

He argues that technology startups have different operational structures and growth models and therefore require financing approaches that reflect their unique needs.
