BOSTenergies Limited Company has recorded a major financial turnaround, posting GH¢683.96 million in Profit After Tax for the 2025 financial year and paying its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana since its establishment 32 years ago.

The company’s performance was announced at its 2026 Annual General Meeting held in Accra, where the shareholder, Board of Directors, Management and other stakeholders reviewed the company’s financial and operational performance for 2025.

BOSTenergies recorded GH¢3.81 billion in revenue, representing a 195 percent year-on-year increase, while Profit After Tax rose by 72 percent to GH¢683.96 million.

The company’s total assets also increased by 50 percent to GH¢3.99 billion, while shareholder equity more than doubled to GH¢1.47 billion.

At the same time, administrative expenses fell by 28 percent, reflecting what management described as continued efforts to improve cost discipline and operational efficiency.

Historic dividend payment

A major highlight of the financial year was BOSTenergies’ payment of its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana since the company was established 32 years ago.

The company paid five percent of its net profit, amounting to GH¢34.2 million, to government.

The payment marks a significant shift in BOSTenergies’ financial performance and is expected to strengthen the company’s contribution to government revenues while demonstrating improved financial sustainability.

Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Mr Afetsi Awoonor, described 2025 as a defining year for the company.

He said the strong results were the product of commercial discipline, prudent financial management and operational efficiency.

“2025 was a defining year for BOSTenergies. We delivered strong financial growth, strengthened our balance sheet and achieved the significant milestone of declaring our first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana.”

Government commends performance

Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, commended the Board, Management and staff of BOSTenergies for what he described as a “masterclass performance” in financial growth, profitability and operational efficiency.

He also highlighted the company’s portfolio growth, which he said had increased almost threefold.

The Minister pledged his support to the Board and Management and charged them to remain focused and build on the gains achieved.

The Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Prof. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, also welcomed the company’s turnaround and its historic dividend payment.

He urged the Board and Management to sustain the momentum and pursue even greater growth while continuing to deliver value to the government and the Ghanaian taxpayer.

Focus shifts to sustainable growth

Looking ahead, BOSTenergies says it will focus on strengthening its operations, improving efficiency, building resilience and creating sustainable value for its shareholder and stakeholders.

The company also intends to leverage its strategic infrastructure, commercial capabilities and evolving energy portfolio to contribute to Ghana’s energy security and respond to changes in the downstream energy sector.

Mr Awoonor said the company’s focus going forward would remain on strengthening operations, driving efficiency and building a resilient organisation capable of delivering long-term value.

The 2026 AGM therefore marked a significant milestone in BOSTenergies’ transformation, with the company entering the next phase of its operations from a stronger financial position and with a renewed focus on sustainability, efficiency and shareholder value.
