The result put the Kenyan champions in a strong position in Group C, with a draw against Top Girls enough to secure their place in the semifinals. However, David Bujego’s side will be determined to finish the job with a victory and move closer to winning the tournament.

Bujego insists Bullets will not underestimate their Burundian opponents and says they will approach the match with the seriousness it deserves.

“We came here to win all four of our games, and we are not going to underrate or demean any side in the competition. Top Girls are the champions in Burundi, just like Simba are champions in Tanzania, and they have many players in the national team. We have to fight and try to get all three points.

“Ahead of the next match, we pray for God to guide us and give us the strength to win it and the tournament at large so that we can qualify for the Champions League,” Bujego told the club’s media on Tuesday.

Striker Terry Engesha Obunyu was delighted with the victory over Simba and warned Top Girls to expect another tough encounter on Wednesday.

“The feeling is awesome. We had prepared well for the match against Simba, and that is why we picked up the win. You should expect more goals from us because our focus is to win the tournament and qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

We overpowered Simba in midfield, which worked well for us after identifying their weakness. We are warning our next opponents, Top Girls Academy of Burundi, to expect tough competition from us,” said Obunyu.

A victory would confirm Bullets’ place in the semifinals and take them a step closer to securing the title and a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The regional champions will earn the sole ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, with CAF yet to confirm the venue and host country for the final tournament.
