‘Who can pay us?’ – KSM denies being on NDC government payroll

Veteran broadcaster and actor Kwaku Sintim Misa, popularly known as KSM, has rejected claims that he is on the payroll of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

KSM said his public commentary on government policies and national issues is not motivated by financial benefits from the government.

He said his views are driven by his desire to contribute to nation-building and to see Ghana develop.

“People don’t understand those of us who are looking for nation building. People think it’s a money issue,” KSM said on The KSM Show.

The veteran broadcaster said some people had accused him of receiving money from the government because of his willingness to defend certain government decisions.

He expressed surprise at such claims, particularly when they came from people he considered educated and intelligent.

KSM said contributing to national development sometimes requires personal sacrifice and should not automatically be interpreted as an attempt to gain financially.

He said people who genuinely believe in nation-building can make sacrifices without expecting payment in return.

“Trust me, when you are sacrificing, you are not begging for money. Please, and I’m sure many of you know this – we are not here every day to suffer and talk about building Ghana because we are on payroll,” he said.

He challenged those making the allegation to provide evidence to support their claims.

“Nothing of that sort has happened, and nothing of that sort will ever happen. Trust me,” he said.
