Prudential Life Insurance Ghana will officially launch the 7th edition of PRURide on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 am in the University of Ghana Stadium VIP Room under the theme, “Pedal for Health. Ride for a Greener Future.”

This year’s theme underscores Prudential Life’s commitment to promoting healthy living, environmental sustainability, and the continued development of cycling in Ghana.

Since its inception, PRURide has grown into one of Ghana’s leading cycling initiatives, encouraging individuals, families, and cycling enthusiasts to embrace cycling as a lifestyle that improves personal wellbeing while contributing to a cleaner environment.

The launch will unveil activities planned for this year’s edition and bring together key stakeholders from the sporting fraternity, corporate Ghana, government agencies, cycling clubs, development partners, the media, and health advocates to rally support for the campaign.

Speaking ahead of the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Jane Dornukuor Mingle, said: “PRURide goes beyond being a cycling event. Every pedal stroke on this journey is a small act with a big ripple effect: fitter bodies, cleaner air, and stronger communities. We are proud to bring this movement into its 7th edition, and even prouder of how far it has grown from a single ride into a genuine call to action for Ghana.”

PRURide is a movement that seeks to inspire Ghanaians to adopt healthier lifestyles, reduce carbon emissions through sustainable transportation, and empower young people by creating opportunities within cycling and sports development. The initiative also aligns with Prudential’s broader sustainability agenda to create healthier communities and protect the future through responsible environmental practices.

The President of the Ghana Cycling Federation, Mr Mohammed Baadae Sahnoon Esq, expressed his delight about the 7th edition, stating: “Our partnership with Prudential Life Insurance Company has grown into a strong and impactful relationship that continues to promote cycling, healthy living, and community engagement. Their unwavering commitment has been instrumental in the success and growth of this event over the past seven editions. We look forward to strengthening this valued partnership in the years ahead, particularly as we work towards elevating the Prudential Ride into a UCI Calendar ranking event in Ghana, creating greater opportunities for our cyclists to earn international ranking points while showcasing Ghana as a premier cycling destination in Africa.”

The official launch on July 14 is expected to outline the calendar of activities, registration details, partnership opportunities, and key highlights leading to the main PRURide event in September.

Prudential Life Insurance Ghana invites cyclists, fitness enthusiasts, environmental advocates, corporate organisations, and the general public to join the movement as PRURide continues its mission of building healthier people and a greener Ghana, one pedal stroke at a time.
