Zoomlion Ghana Limited has expressed its full support for the government’s declaration of Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as National General Cleaning Days in flood-affected regions, pledging to deploy personnel, equipment, and logistics to support the nationwide exercise.

In a statement, the waste management company commended President John Dramani Mahama for what it described as a “bold, timely, and decisive intervention” following the recent floods, saying the initiative demonstrates a renewed national commitment to protecting lives, safeguarding public health and restoring environmental sanitation.

“As Ghana’s foremost waste management company and a trusted partner in environmental sanitation for over two decades, Zoomlion Ghana Limited is fully prepared and committed to supporting the successful implementation of this important national exercise,” the statement said.

The company said that following discussions with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, it has activated its nationwide operational network and placed its regional, district and municipal offices, together with its fleet of equipment, logistics and personnel, at the disposal of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and affected communities.

According to Zoomlion, its support for the two-day exercise will include the deployment of sanitation personnel, waste collection trucks, skip containers, compactors and other heavy-duty equipment to facilitate coordinated cleanup operations.

The company also said it would undertake the evacuation and safe disposal of collected waste and silt, desilt drains and waterways, clean roads, markets, lorry parks, public spaces and drainage channels, as well as disinfect and sanitise flood-affected public areas to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks.

It added that it would provide operational support and technical expertise to MMDAs and other stakeholders throughout the exercise.

Zoomlion further assured the government that its support would extend beyond the two-day exercise where necessary to help restore affected communities to safe and healthy conditions.

“The devastating floods have once again reminded us that environmental sanitation is a shared national responsibility. Preventing future disasters requires sustained collaboration among government institutions, private sector organisations, traditional authorities, civil society, and every Ghanaian citizen,” the statement said.

The company also called on residents, community leaders, businesses, institutions and civil society organisations to actively participate in the cleanup exercise.

“We therefore urge all residents, community leaders, businesses, institutions, and civil society organisations to actively participate in the exercise. Together, we can restore our communities, protect public health, and build a cleaner, more resilient Ghana.”

Zoomlion reaffirmed its commitment to delivering sustainable environmental sanitation solutions to support national development.

“Together, let us answer the President’s call. Let us clean our communities, protect our environment, and safeguard our future,” the statement added.
