Dr Nwafor Calls for Greater Participation, Exhibition – Independent Newspaper Nigeria

A member of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sierra Leone, and the Chief Executive Officer of Yennco World Trade Fair Limited, Dr Onyeka Nwafor, has called on businessmen, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs to participate actively in the maiden Nigeria-Sierra Leone Trade Fair coming up soon in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The trade fair, which he said would be held annually, is expected to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the two countries.

This maiden edition, Nwafor, who spoke ahead of the event, said will hold between July 27 to August 9, 2026, at the Miatta Conference Centre, Freetown.

He said the primary objective of the fair was to promote Made-in-Nigeria products and create greater market access for Nigerian businesses in Sierra Leone and the wider West African region.

He noted that the annual trade volume between Nigeria and Sierra Leone currently stands at approximately $5 Million and Nigeria’s exports are valued at roughly $2.96 Million, describing it as a modest but steadily growing bilateral economic relationship with significant potential for expansion.

According to Dr Nwafor, the trade fair would provide exhibitors with numerous opportunities, including access to a massive audience, high-level networking with industry stakeholders, multi-channel media exposure, product launch platforms, business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions, and participation certificates.

He emphasised that the event would serve as a strategic platform for fostering cross-border trade, attracting investment, and promoting economic cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

He therefore urged government officials, manufacturers, exporters, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs), and investors to take advantage of the exhibition to showcase their products and services, build valuable partnerships, and explore new business opportunities in the region.

The Nigeria-Sierra Leone Trade Fair is expected to attract participants from various sectors of the economy, further enhancing trade relations and strengthening economic integration between the two West African nations.
