Popular Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, popularly known as DeeOne, has emerged as the Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections.

DeeOne secured the ticket after emerging victorious in his party’s primary election, marking a significant step in his transition from entertainment to politics.

Announcing the development on his social media platforms, the comedian expressed gratitude to members of his party for entrusting him with the mandate to represent the constituency in the forthcoming election.

According to him, the victory reflects the confidence reposed in him by party members and supporters who believe in his vision for grassroots development and youth inclusion in governance.

The development has generated reactions across social media, with supporters congratulating the entertainer-turned-politician on his latest political milestone.

DeeOne, who rose to fame through the Big Brother Naija reality show and later built a successful career in comedy and social commentary, now joins a growing list of Nigerian entertainers seeking elective political offices.

His emergence comes as political activities continue to gather momentum across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

If elected, DeeOne is expected to represent Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
