Popular Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has died at the age of 42, leaving Ghana’s entertainment industry and fans in shock.

Her death was announced by her husband, Ghanaian musician Choirmaster, formerly of the music group Praye, in an emotional social media post shared in the early hours of Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The musician, also known as Praye Honeho, expressed deep grief over the passing of his wife, describing her as his source of strength, happiness and motivation.

“My heart is broken beyond words over the loss of my beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo,” he wrote. “In just a few days, it would have been your birthday, but I believe God chose to celebrate with you instead.”

He added that Beverly had been the reason his life felt complete and promised to continue the dreams and plans they had started together.

“Every moment with you was a blessing I will forever cherish. You were my number one supporter and I can still hear your voice encouraging me,” he wrote.

Choirmaster also described the actress as “a legend”, saying her death was a huge loss not only to him but to fans and the entertainment fraternity.

The cause of death has not yet been made public.

Beverly Afaglo, who hailed from Ghana’s Volta Region, was married to Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah, known in showbiz circles as Choirmaster. The couple had two daughters together.

Over the years, Beverly built a strong reputation in Ghana’s film industry with appearances in several local movies and television productions.

She was known for her versatility, charisma and strong screen presence.

The actress featured in films including Return of Beyonce, About to Wed, Sidechic Gang, Aloe Vera and other Ghanaian productions that earned her admiration among movie lovers.

Beyond acting, she was also active on social media, where she often shared moments from her family life, career and business activities with fans.

In August 2021, Beverly survived a devastating fire outbreak that destroyed much of her home and belongings after a blaze reportedly lasted for several hours. At the time, many colleagues and fans rallied around her with support.

News of her death has since sparked an outpouring of tributes from actors, musicians and fans across social media, with many remembering her for her talent, warmth and contribution to Ghana’s entertainment industry.
