Matiang’i, Ndindi & Martha to Land at Gachagua’s Nyeri Backyard Days After Ex-DP Sent Warning

People’s Party leader Ndindi Nyoro has announced a joint Sunday service tomorrow at St. John Paul II Kandara in Narumoru in the Nyeri Archdiocese. The event is set for 11:00 a.m.

Nyoro will appear alongside Jubilee Party leader Dr Fred Matiang’i and People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua.

In a Facebook post shared earlier today Nyoro invited supporters with a short message. He wrote “Kesho Church Service. Karibuni sana” and used the slogan “We are African and Africa is our Business.” The poster shows the three leaders and confirms the Nyeri venue.

The engagement follows their joint appearance in Limuru Kiambu County on November 5. That rally was held in an area considered part of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s political base. The leaders emphasised mutual respect and cautioned against political entitlement within the opposition.

They also appeared together in Njoro Nakuru in late October. There they called for a single opposition presidential candidate in 2027.

The move into Nyeri carries added weight because it is Gachagua’s home county. It comes about a week after Gachagua urged Matiang’i and other opposition figures to focus on building their own political bases. He asked them to mobilise numbers instead of engaging in criticism.

Gachagua has argued that electoral strength should guide opposition strategy. He pointed to the combined weight of the Mt Kenya and Ukambani and Western Kenya voting blocs.

The trio’s joint activities highlight parallel tracks within the opposition. Gachagua has been engaging leaders linked to the Linda Mwananchi movement and Wiper. Nyoro and Matiang’i and Karua have kept up a visible partnership across several Mt Kenya counties.

Observers note that church services remain a key platform for political mobilisation in the region. The Sunday event is expected to blend spiritual fellowship with political messaging.
