Katsina Residents Attack APC Supporters, Burn Vehicles While Going For Gov Radda’s Campaign

According to a report by Channels Television on Saturday, October 31, 2026, several supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were reportedly injured during a violent incident in Yankara, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, while travelling to a campaign rally backing Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The confrontation reportedly erupted when supporters heading to the political gathering encountered a group of youths who allegedly blocked their movement.

Alhaji Nura Sule Yandaki, Caucus Chairman of the Musa Adamu Network, said he was travelling with 11 members of his team when the incident occurred. He alleged that the confrontation coincided with a Maulud procession organised by members of an Islamic group, claiming that some individuals took advantage of the gathering to attack vehicles conveying APC supporters.

One of the vehicles belonging to the Musa Adamu Network was reportedly set on fire during the violence. There were also allegations that two people lost their lives, although the reported deaths had not been independently verified.

As of 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, the police had yet to issue an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the incident or confirming the reported casualties.

Reacting to the development, the network’s secretary, Shamsuddeen Sani Lema, condemned the attack and called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that anyone found responsible faces the law.

Despite the reported violence, Governor Radda went ahead with the campaign rally in Faskari. Addressing supporters, he highlighted his administration’s record in healthcare, education, infrastructure and security.

He specifically pointed to the completion of Faskari General Hospital, describing the project as the fulfilment of a promise his administration had made to the people of the area.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Director-General of the campaign council, urged women, young people and other party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The state APC Chairman, Bishir Saulawa, also appealed to party members to conduct their political activities peacefully as preparations for the next general election gather momentum.
