It was an evening of music, glamour and celebration as business leaders, politicians, traditional rulers and other prominent personalities gathered in Ibadan, Oyo State, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of CapitalSage Holdings and the commissioning of its new global headquarters.
The event, which took place on Wednesday at the CapitalSage House on Kenneth Dike, Secretariat Road, Ibadan, attracted distinguished guests.
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was joined by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja; the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye; and other stakeholders.
In his remarks, the company’s Group Managing Director, John Alamu said the opening of the headquarters reflected the company’s ambition to build globally competitive businesses while remaining rooted in Nigeria.
He said, “We began 10 years ago with conviction. The conviction that problems could become businesses.”
Alamu said CapitalSage Holdings began with an initial capital of N100,000 and has expanded into a group of about 20 companies, with its headquarters in Ibadan.
He added that the company’s next decade would focus on building stronger and more sustainable businesses capable of creating lasting value for future generations.
The commissioning of the new headquarters formed a major part of the celebration, with Makinde joining Alamu and other dignitaries for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally inaugurate the facility.
Speaking at the event, Makinde commended Alamu and his team for their entrepreneurial drive, noting that building a successful business required taking risks and investing in productive ventures.
He also pledged the Oyo State Government’s continued support for the company, noting that its growth and decision to establish its global headquarters in Ibadan would create employment opportunities and stimulate economic activities in the state.
“I can assure you that we will continue to give our support as a government because we want you to continue to provide jobs and grow the economy of Oyo State,” Makinde added.
The anniversary programme continued with a three-day exhibition from Thursday, October 29, to Saturday, October 31, at CapitalSage House, showcasing the group’s businesses, products and services to members of the public.
