If You Mess With Us, We’ll Mess You Up – Owusu Bempah Sends Warning To Otabil

If You Mess With Us, We’ll Mess You Up – Owusu Bempah Sends Warning To Otabil

According to a report by Ghbase News on Sunday November 1, 2026, Controversial Ghanaian preacher Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah has launched a strong verbal attack on renowned man of God Dr. Mensah Otabil following comments attributed to the latter concerning the growing number of fake prophets in Ghana.

During a Sunday church service, Prophet Owusu Bempah expressed his displeasure over remarks suggesting that several prophets operating in the country were not genuine men of God and were not even born again Christians.

The outspoken preacher appeared particularly unhappy with the comments and insisted that Dr. Otabil should be careful about making sweeping statements about other men of God, warning that he also had information about prominent religious figures that could create serious controversy if made public.

In what appeared to be a direct challenge to the respected preacher, Owusu Bempah made several allegations involving one of Dr. Otabil’s close friends, whom he identified as a pastor based in the United Kingdom.

According to Owusu Bempah, the UK-based pastor allegedly introduced a woman to a man who eventually married her but continued having an intimate relationship with the woman even after her marriage.

Although he did not provide publicly verifiable evidence to support the allegation, Owusu Bempah suggested that he knew considerably more about the matter and other incidents involving people within Dr. Otabil’s circle.

The founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International further claimed that certain sensitive matters involving well-known pastors had been kept away from public attention because of his personal intervention.

He specifically alleged that one major scandal involving a pastor who was a close friend of Dr. Otabil could have attracted international media attention, including coverage by the BBC and CNN, had he not stepped in to prevent the situation from escalating.

Owusu Bempah maintained that he had previously helped protect the reputations of some prominent religious leaders whenever embarrassing issues emerged, insisting that his decision to remain silent should not be interpreted as an inability to speak about their alleged misconduct.

He therefore questioned Dr. Otabil’s authority to describe other prophets as fake, arguing that religious leaders should exercise caution when commenting on the authenticity and spiritual standing of their colleagues.

The controversial preacher’s remarks became particularly intense when he warned that he would no longer remain silent if Dr. Otabil continued making statements he considered damaging to the reputation of prophets in Ghana.

He issued a stern warning, suggesting that he could publicly reveal information he claims to possess about the respected preacher and people associated with him.

“If he doesn’t shut his mouth and tries to mess with the reputation of Prophets in this country, trust me, then we will also mess him up because we know things,” Owusu Bempah warned.

His comments have added another dimension to the ongoing public discussion about the activities of religious leaders in Ghana, particularly concerns surrounding false prophecies, questionable spiritual practices and the credibility of some individuals who identify themselves as men of God.

The confrontation also raises questions about accountability within the Christian community, especially when prominent religious figures publicly challenge one another over the conduct and integrity of fellow ministers.

While Owusu Bempah has made serious allegations, the claims concerning the UK-based pastor and the alleged intervention to prevent an international scandal have not been independently established.

Dr. Mensah Otabil’s response to the latest remarks was not included in the account of the Sunday service.
