Source Reveal What Happened To Uhuru in Recent Meeting Planned By Elders to Unite Him With Gachagua

Elders from the Mt Kenya region have intensified efforts to bring former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua together ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The latest reconciliation initiative, which is the fourth attempt since 2022, also seeks to involve Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in discussions aimed at uniting the region politically. The elders say a meeting is being planned before December, although an earlier arrangement reportedly failed after Uhuru was unavailable.

Kiama Kia Ma national patron Kung’u Muigai confirmed that preparations were ongoing, adding that Uhuru would determine the date of the proposed meeting.

The relationship between Uhuru and Gachagua deteriorated after the 2022 elections, with tensions escalating during Gachagua’s tenure as Deputy President. Gachagua has previously apologised publicly to the Kenyatta family over past incidents involving their businesses and property.

The elders want the two leaders to put aside their differences and agree on a common political direction for Mt Kenya. They also want discussions to establish who will serve as the region’s political spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Kindiki has also expressed interest in involving Uhuru in efforts to unite the region. Political elder Bernard Njue warned that continued divisions could weaken Mt Kenya’s influence in the 2027 elections.
