“Building Capacity, Empowering Young Lawyers” — O.G. Ogbom Facilitates Tax Awareness Training For Over 15 NBA Port Harcourt Lawyers
Legal practitioner and Managing Partner of O.G. Ogbom & Partners, O.G. Ogbom, Esq., Ph.D., has facilitated the participation of over 15 young lawyers of the Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt Branch, in a specialised tax awareness programme aimed at deepening their understanding of Nigeria’s 2025 tax reform laws.
The one-day programme, organised by the Joint Revenue Board, was held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Galaxy La Palm Royal Resort, Port Harcourt.
The programme, themed “Understanding the 2025 Tax Laws in Nigeria: Institutional Coordination, Legal Compliance, Taxpayer Protection and Administration of Tax Justice,” was designed to expose participants to the practical and legal implications of the country’s evolving tax framework.
The training focused on the 2025 tax reform laws, the legal and institutional responsibilities of the Joint Revenue Board, taxpayers’ rights, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution mechanisms and the administration of tax justice.
Ogbom’s facilitation of the young lawyers’ participation formed part of his continuing commitment to professional development, legal education and capacity building within the legal profession.
The initiative was aimed at exposing young practitioners to emerging areas of legal practice, particularly taxation, fiscal policy, regulatory compliance and tax dispute resolution.
By facilitating their participation in the programme, Ogbom helped create an opportunity for the young lawyers to gain practical knowledge, professional exposure and a better understanding of Nigeria’s changing legal and fiscal environment.
The initiative further underscores the growing importance of continuous legal education as major reforms introduce new regulatory obligations, taxpayer protections and dispute-resolution frameworks.
For young lawyers, developments in Nigeria’s tax system are also opening new areas for professional practice and advisory services, making specialised training increasingly important.
Ogbom has continued to advocate professional capacity development for young lawyers, with the latest initiative centred on facilitating access to learning opportunities that can better equip practitioners in the NBA Port Harcourt Branch to understand and apply the country’s new tax laws.
The programme brought together participants to examine institutional coordination, legal compliance and taxpayer protection, while also providing an opportunity for lawyers to broaden their understanding of the administration of tax justice in Nigeria.
The initiative reflects Ogbom’s broader emphasis on building capacity, empowering young lawyers and advancing professional excellence within the legal profession.
