“Building Capacity, Empowering Young Lawyers” — O.G. Ogbom Sponsors Over 15 Lawyers For 2025 Tax Reform Training
Legal practitioner and Managing Partner of O.G. Ogbom & Partners, O.G. Ogbom, Esq., Ph.D., has facilitated the participation of over 15 young lawyers of the Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt Branch, in a specialised tax awareness programme aimed at deepening their understanding of Nigeria’s 2025 tax reform laws.
The one-day programme, organised by the Joint Revenue Board, was held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Galaxy La Palm Royal Resort, Port Harcourt.
The programme, themed “Understanding the 2025 Tax Laws in Nigeria: Institutional Coordination, Legal Compliance, Taxpayer Protection and Administration of Tax Justice,” was designed to expose participants to the practical and legal implications of the country’s evolving tax framework.
The training focused on the 2025 tax reform laws, the legal and institutional responsibilities of the Joint Revenue Board, taxpayers’ rights, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution mechanisms and the administration of tax justice.
Ogbom’s support for the participating young lawyers formed part of his continuing commitment to professional development, legal education and capacity building within the legal profession.
The initiative was also aimed at preparing young practitioners to take advantage of emerging areas of legal practice, particularly taxation, fiscal policy, regulatory compliance and tax dispute resolution.
By facilitating their participation in the programme, Ogbom sought to provide the young lawyers with practical knowledge, professional exposure and skills required to operate effectively within Nigeria’s changing legal and fiscal environment.
The initiative further underscores the growing importance of continuous legal education as major reforms introduce new regulatory obligations, taxpayer protections and dispute-resolution frameworks.
For young lawyers, developments in Nigeria’s tax system are also opening new areas for professional practice and advisory services, making specialised training increasingly important.
Ogbom has continued to advocate investment in young lawyers and professional capacity development, with the latest initiative centred on ensuring that practitioners in the NBA Port Harcourt Branch are better equipped to understand and apply the country’s new tax laws.
The programme brought together participants to examine institutional coordination, legal compliance and taxpayer protection, while also providing an opportunity for lawyers to broaden their understanding of the administration of tax justice in Nigeria.
The initiative reflects Ogbom’s broader emphasis on building capacity, empowering young lawyers and advancing professional excellence within the legal profession.
