“Toroka Na DCP” Farouk Kibet’s Bold Advice to Malala That Could Leave Gachagua in Trouble
President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has advised Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala to take control of the party and leave former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua without a political vehicle.
Speaking during a political rally in Kakamega, Kibet criticised Gachagua, accusing him of promoting tribal politics.
He challenged Malala to take charge of DCP and position himself as the party’s leader.
Kibet’s remarks come amid growing differences between Gachagua and Malala over the direction of the party and its position on the opposition’s 2027 presidential candidate.
The disagreement intensified after Gachagua declared that Malala was not DCP’s spokesperson. His remarks attracted reactions from supporters and raised questions about Malala’s position within the party.
Malala had earlier stated that DCP had agreed to support Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as their presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election. However, Gachagua dismissed the claim, maintaining that Malala was expressing his personal opinion rather than communicating an agreed position by the opposition.
Kibet used the rally to urge residents of the Western region to support President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027. He promised that the region would have an opportunity to produce a presidential candidate in the 2032 General Election.
The presidential aide also dismissed Sifuna’s presidential ambitions, arguing that the Nairobi senator was too young and lacked the experience needed to lead the country.
