From Ebson âSugarâ Muguyoâs historic hat-trick in the 1970s to Tendai Ndoroâs match-winning brace in 2016, Zimbabweans have left their mark on the rivalry.
Muguyo is one of the most celebrated Zimbabwean names in derby history.
The former Chiefs striker scored the opening goal in a 3-3 draw against Pirates on 29 November 1975.
He then made history in the replay on 3 December, scoring a hat-trick as Amakhosi won 5-1.
According to Kaizer Chiefs, Muguyo scored nine Soweto Derby goals in total, making him a standout figure from the rivalryâs early years.
Musona was a key figure for Chiefs during his first spell at the club.
He scored a brace in a 3-1 league victory over Pirates in November 2010, with the Confederation of African Football describing it as one of his best derby performances.
SuperSport records three Soweto Derby goals for the Zimbabwean forward, including a strike in an MTN8 semi-final.
According to SuperSport, the âSmiling Assassinâ had two spells with Chiefs on either side of time spent in the Bundsliga.
He scored three goals in 11 derby appearances.
The former Warriors captain scored twice for Chiefs against Pirates.
His goals came in March 2014 and January 2016, both from headers at the back post.
Katsande also holds the distinction of making 27 derby appearances, the most by a foreign player, according to SuperSport.
The late Ndoro delivered one of the most memorable individual performances by a Zimbabwean in the fixture.
Playing for Pirates, he scored twice in seven minutes as the Buccaneers beat Chiefs 2-0 in a Nedbank Cup match in March 2016.
Mushangazhike scored for Pirates in November 2008, heading home the opening goal in a 2-0 victory over Chiefs at Mmabatho Stadium.
Nkhatha found the net for Chiefs in a 1-1 draw against Pirates. The striker celebrated by putting a finger to his lips, appearing to respond to criticism from sections of the home support.
Billiat scored on his Soweto Derby debut for Chiefs in October 2018.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward became another Zimbabwean to register his name on the derby scoresheet.
