What Ruto Told Russia At The Kremlin Which Could Reshape Africa’s Economic Future Forever

President William Ruto has urged Russia to deepen its economic partnership with Africa. He wants Moscow to invest in key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, research and innovation, and artificial intelligence.

He delivered Kenya’s statement at the Third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum at the Kremlin in Moscow on Thursday, October 29, 2026. He also called for reforms to the international financial architecture. He said the system should respond better to the development needs of African nations.

Writing on X after the forum, Ruto said more investment in productive sectors would help African countries strengthen their economies. He added that it would create opportunities and speed up development. He invited Russia to deepen its partnership with the continent through investment in productive capacities.

The President said the global financial system should reflect the economic realities and priorities of African nations. He stressed the need for financing arrangements that help countries invest in critical areas of their economies.

African nations continue to seek affordable financing. They need it for infrastructure, industrialisation and social services while many other demands compete for limited funds.

Ruto’s appeal placed special focus on productive capacities. Investment in agriculture could support food production and value addition. Funding for education and research could build skills and spur technological innovation.

Healthcare investment could widen access to essential services. Artificial intelligence offers a chance to raise productivity and improve public services.

His remarks show that Kenya wants partnerships that go beyond traditional trade. The country is eyeing technology transfer, research and long-term economic growth. The forum gives Russia and African states a platform to discuss cooperation and development priorities.
