KPL Table After After Gor Mahia Beat Homeboyz 1-0

Gor Mahia have strengthened their grip on top spot in the 2026/27 FKF Premier League standings after edging Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium on Wednesday.

David Okoth Odhiambo scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute to hand the record Kenyan champions their fourth consecutive victory and take their points tally to 12 from four matches.

The result keeps Gor Mahia at the summit with a perfect record, having won all their opening fixtures against Murang’a Seal, APS Bomet, Bandari FC and Kakamega Homeboyz.

Gor Mahia’s latest victory also extends their early advantage in the title race as the other teams continue their Match Week Four assignments.

For Kakamega Homeboyz, the defeat was a setback after collecting four points from their first two matches. They had opened the campaign with a 1-0 win over Mombasa United before drawing 1-1 with Ulinzi Stars.

Homeboyz had hoped to become the first team to deny Gor Mahia victory this season, but Odhiambo’s second-half strike ensured the visitors left Kakamega with maximum points.

The result leaves Gor Mahia firmly in control of the early standings, with 12 points putting them in a strong position as they pursue another league title.

Attention now turns to the remaining Match Week Four fixtures, which could bring further changes to the table as the chasing sides look to close the gap on the leaders.

AFC Leopards, Mara Sugar FC and other contenders will be seeking positive results to improve their positions, while Gor Mahia will be eager to preserve their unbeaten record when they return to action.
