“Something Big Is Coming”: Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Reveals Date of Major Event
Supporters of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna are waiting to see what could unfold this Friday after the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party announced plans for a major event without disclosing what it intends to unveil.
The movement shared the cryptic message on Monday, October 26, setting October 30, 2026, as the date for the anticipated occasion. The announcement quickly attracted attention online, with supporters offering different explanations about what the party could be preparing.
The message was circulated on social media under the hashtag #ChamaChaSifuna, linking the announcement to the political movement associated with Sifuna and discussions surrounding the 2027 General Election.
Abigael Gikonyo, the party’s public relations and communications strategist, added to the mystery through a separate message that appeared to point towards Friday as a significant day for the senator.
“Baba’s day was Tueeesdaaaay! H.E Edwin Sifuna’s day is Fridaaaaay! Password ni membership number!” she wrote.
Her reference to a membership number prompted speculation that the event could involve registered party members or require participants to identify themselves through their membership details. However, the party had not officially explained the meaning of the message.
Some supporters believe the announcement could be connected to the formal launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party. The group had previously indicated plans to introduce itself officially after changing its identity from The Equitable Party.
Others suggested that the event might involve the opening of party headquarters or another organisational announcement. These possibilities, however, remained speculation rather than confirmed plans.
The reactions online reflected both excitement and scepticism. Some supporters expressed readiness to attend, with several asking the organisers to reveal the venue and provide more information.
One social media user suggested that the occasion could be the launch of the movement’s headquarters, while another predicted that the party would officially introduce itself on Friday.
Other commentators urged the movement to concentrate on building support beyond online discussions, questioning whether the enthusiasm displayed on social media would translate into votes during the next election.
The announcement comes as political figures and their supporters continue positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
For now, the movement has not publicly confirmed the purpose, location or programme of Friday’s event. Supporters will have to wait for further communication from the organisers to establish whether the occasion will mark a formal party launch or another major political development.
