Kalonzo Musyoka Arrives at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro Residence for Talks Ahead of 2027 Elections

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has arrived at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence for political talks as opposition leaders continue consultations ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The meeting brings together two prominent figures in the opposition and comes amid ongoing discussions about cooperation, leadership and the possibility of building a united political front to challenge President William Ruto in the next election.

Kalonzo has been positioning himself as a key figure in the opposition, while Gachagua has continued engaging leaders from different political formations following his fallout with the ruling administration.

Their meeting is expected to attract attention because of the growing debate over who should lead the opposition into the 2027 presidential contest and how competing political interests can be brought together.

The discussions also come at a time when opposition leaders are exploring ways to strengthen their coordination and develop a common strategy ahead of the polls. However, it remains to be seen whether the engagement will result in a formal agreement or further consultations among the leaders.

Kalonzo has previously expressed his intention to persuade other opposition leaders to support his presidential ambitions, highlighting the negotiations taking place within the opposition camp.

Gachagua, meanwhile, remains an influential voice in the political debate, with his engagements attracting interest as leaders consider possible alliances ahead of the election.

The outcome of the Wamunyoro meeting could provide further insight into the direction of opposition negotiations. Any decision on a joint presidential candidate or formal coalition, however, will depend on subsequent consultations and public announcements by the leaders involved.
