Uhuru Kenyatta Turns 65 as Kenyans, Njeri Maina and Gachagua’s DCP Send Birthday Wishes

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has turned 65, attracting birthday wishes from Kenyans, political leaders and institutions who celebrated his life and years of service to the country.

Uhuru marked his birthday on Monday, October 26, 2026, with messages from various quarters highlighting his contribution to Kenya and wishing him good health, peace and many more years.

The Office of the Fourth President of the Republic of Kenya led the celebrations with a special message recognising the former Head of State’s public service and continued contribution to the country.

In its message, the office wished Uhuru a memorable birthday filled with happiness and special moments with his family and loved ones.

It also acknowledged his years of service to the nation, expressing hope that his new year would bring him good health, strength and peace.

The office further prayed for God’s blessings on the retired President as he celebrated another birthday following his departure from State House in September 2022.

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina also joined those celebrating Uhuru, asking Kenyans to wish the former President well as he marked the milestone.

In her message, Maina prayed for God’s protection and blessings upon the former Head of State.

“Help me wish the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya a happy birthday! May the good Lord bless and keep you,” she said.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, also sent birthday wishes to Uhuru.

The party shared a message celebrating the former President and wishing him continued good health.

“Happy birthday to our former president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. May God bless you with good health,” the party stated.

Other Kenyans also used the occasion to express their appreciation for Uhuru’s leadership and wish him well in his retirement.

Moses Nsereko celebrated the milestone, describing Uhuru as a great leader who had served the country.

In his birthday message, Nsereko wrote, “Happiest birthday, former greatest president of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Uhuru Kenyatta.”

Muigai Njoroge also sent his best wishes, praying for the former President’s health, wisdom and long life.

“May God grant you good health, wisdom, and many more years of life. Thank you for your service to our nation. Wishing you happiness, peace, and continued blessings,” Njoroge said.

Uhuru served as Kenya’s fourth President from 2013 to 2022. He won the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections before handing over power to President William Ruto following the 2022 General Election.

Since leaving office, the former President has remained involved in regional and diplomatic affairs, including peace initiatives in parts of Africa.

His birthday comes as political parties and leaders continue positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, a period expected to bring further political realignments.

Although retired from the presidency, Uhuru remains a notable figure in Kenya’s political landscape because of his experience, influence and former leadership role.

The birthday messages offered an opportunity for Kenyans and political figures to reflect on his time in office while wishing him well as he begins another year of life.
