Kalonzo Explains Why He Visited Gachagua at Wamunyoro as 2027 Talks Intensify

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has explained his visit to Rigathi Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence, dismissing claims of a fallout as propaganda amid ongoing political engagements ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Kalonzo’s visit has attracted attention as opposition leaders continue holding consultations over possible cooperation and their political strategies ahead of the next polls.

The Wiper leader addressed speculation surrounding the meeting, seeking to clarify the purpose of his engagement with Gachagua and reject claims suggesting that their political relationship had encountered difficulties.

The meeting comes at a time when opposition figures are exploring ways to work together as they prepare for the 2027 elections. Discussions among the leaders have drawn public interest, particularly over questions of unity, leadership and the possibility of a common political strategy.

Kalonzo has previously expressed his intention to persuade other opposition leaders to support his political ambitions, highlighting the ongoing discussions about leadership within the opposition.

Gachagua, who has also been involved in consultations with various political figures, remains a key participant in the discussions surrounding opposition cooperation.

However, claims of disagreements among opposition leaders continue to generate debate as different political interests emerge ahead of the elections.

Kalonzo’s latest remarks place the focus on his explanation of the Wamunyoro visit and his dismissal of reports suggesting a fallout.

The coming months are expected to bring further political consultations as leaders assess possible alliances and strategies ahead of the 2027 General Election.
