2027: Northwest has spoken, Tinubu is our choice – Kwankwaso
According to a report by Vanguard on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Dr Musa Kwankwaso, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has expressed confidence that the North-West will deliver massive votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, ensuring his return to Aso Rock for another term in office.
Kwankwaso made the statement following the large turnout of supporters and the endorsement of Tinubu during the formal inauguration of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday.
He described the gathering as a significant political event demonstrating the region’s support for the president ahead of the forthcoming election.
The APC campaign council member said the impressive attendance at the Kaduna rally had provided a clear indication of the North’s position in the emerging presidential contest.
According to him, the event had removed doubts about the region’s political direction and demonstrated its willingness to support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Kwankwaso maintained that the importance of the gathering went beyond political mobilisation, arguing that the northern region had used the occasion to communicate its position to other geopolitical zones.
He said the message was that Nigerians should unite behind Tinubu to promote national development and strengthen the country’s political and economic stability.
He further stated that the president’s administration presented an opportunity to advance balanced development across the country.
Kwankwaso explained that supporting Tinubu would help sustain efforts to ensure that national resources were distributed fairly among the six geopolitical zones, while promoting inclusive growth and addressing developmental needs in different parts of Nigeria.
The campaign council member also rejected the suggestion that northern support for Tinubu was based solely on political benefits or immediate interests.
He argued that the region had a responsibility to uphold its political commitments and maintain unity behind the president as preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify.
“Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and he will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he said.
