Obi: For Soludo to Go Against the Spirit Of APGA to Pull Down His Own Brother,it’s Scandalous-Okorie

Victor Okorie, founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and National Chairman of the Igbo Agenda Dialogue, has criticised Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo over his decision to support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Okorie described Soludo’s position as embarrassing and scandalous, arguing that the governor had gone against the founding principles of the party that provided him with the platform to become governor.

He made the remarks during an interview with Arise News on Friday, October 23, 2026, while reacting to Soludo’s support for Tinubu’s re-election bid and his opposition to Peter Obi’s presidential ambition.

According to Okorie, APGA was founded on the principle of presenting a presidential candidate from the Southeast in every election cycle until the region attained the presidency, after which the party could begin rotating its presidential ambition.

He explained that the principle formed part of APGA’s founding vision, citing the emergence of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as the party’s first presidential candidate.

The APGA founder expressed disappointment that Soludo, having benefited from the party politically, would support the APC president rather than back Obi, whom he described as his Igbo brother.

In his words, “So, for Governor Soludo, a product of APGA, to go against the spirit and articles of the party is deeply disappointing. That policy was well-established, which was how the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu became its first beneficiary. For Soludo to not only support the APC president, but to actively pull down his own brother, is why I say it is embarrassing and scandalous.”
