BREAKING NEWS: EPRA Announces New Fuel Prices for October-November Cycle.

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has increased fuel prices for the October-November 2026 pricing cycle, dealing another blow to Kenyan motorists and households already grappling with the high cost of living.

Under the new prices, super petrol has increased by KSh12.93 per litre to retail at KSh226.96, while diesel has risen by KSh9.90 to KSh227.76 per litre.

Kerosene has recorded the biggest increase, rising by KSh28.49 to retail at KSh219.87 per litre.

The new prices are expected to put additional pressure on transport operators, businesses and households that depend on petroleum products for their daily activities.

The increase in petrol prices could force motorists to spend more on fuel, while public service vehicle operators may face higher operating costs.

These expenses could eventually translate into increased transport fares if operators decide to pass the additional costs on to passengers.

Diesel prices are also likely to affect the cost of transporting goods across the country, potentially putting upward pressure on the prices of food and other essential commodities.

Meanwhile, the sharp rise in kerosene prices could hit low-income households that rely on the fuel for cooking and lighting, further straining already stretched family budgets.

EPRA reviews petroleum prices every month, taking into account factors such as the cost of imported petroleum products, exchange rates, taxes and other applicable charges.

The latest adjustment is likely to reignite debate over fuel affordability and its impact on Kenya’s economy, particularly as consumers continue to face rising household expenses.

Motorists and consumers will now have to adjust their budgets to accommodate the higher pump prices during the new pricing period.
