“The first man that failed me was my father” woman writes as she shares how she and her siblings suffered
A woman has accused her father of being a good father to his second wife’s children while failing the 8 children he had with her mother, the first wife. Ibe Peace Chidinma took to Facebook to narrate how her siblings suffered hardship and had to be sent to serve as maids to different families because her father could not care for them. She said her parents had 8 children and her mother left home to fend for the family while she alleged that her father, who stayed back, practically abandoned them. She shared a photo she took with her father and wrote: “The first man that failed me was my father. He never took care of the 8 children from his first wife and he married a second wife. Anyi tara aki! “I have let go but I can’t forget. I, Ibe Peace Chidinma suffered I can’t forgettttt. Not possible. Any time I remember those horrible years, my blood pumps abnormally. “Kudos to my mum for not abandoning us. “When it got tough that she could not keep fending for 8 children, she ran away to her parents in Aba. We were roaming the village like orphans. Imagine leaving as a maid to your neighbor in the village when you have a father in the same village/compound. “Guess what? My mum returned, she came back for us. “I can personally count 10 persons I lived with as a maid. I suffered eeee. “Does my father know what happened behind the doors of those people he dashed us too? “The most horrible of them all was my journey to Umuahia. Ohhhh. From Umuahia, I was exported to Owerri, and from Owerri to Port Harcourt and my family never knew where I was. “What a Horror! “Did you know that I couldn’t run away because I didn’t know the direction to my village. Ahhh Port Harcourt was like USA to me. “I tried running away severally and I still end up in the same house I ran from. No one suffered as I did.” She continued: “After so many years, I never knew my mum has gone to the same Umuahia to look for me but never succeeded. “After so many years of horrific pain, my mum successfully traced me from Umuahia to Owerri then Port Harcourt, when I saw her, I recognized that face cos my heart melted. I resurrected. “Sadly, she didnt go back with me because of poverty. She told me she would come back for me. Terrible. Story for another day. “Imagine what would have happened if my mum abandoned us or she never lived for us. “We the 8 children of Ibe Ugochi and Last Kobo wouldn’t have known one another because we were all sent away to different locations and to different people as maids and helps. “Na my elder sister get gist. That one they packaged suffering from birth give am. “Nnam you might be a good father to your second wife’s children but you failed us. “I never felt loved. I have never stayed under the same roof with you since my primary school days because I can’t remember nursery. “Maybe I will feel good if I make this post today. There’s a pain behind this smile!”
