The Black Queens of Ghana wrapped up a 10-0 aggregate scoreline against Mauritius on Tuesday and will now face either Uganda or Zambia in February next year in the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games.
The Queens hosted their counterparts at the Essipong Stadium for the second leg of the fixture, on the back of a 3-0 triumph from the first meeting in Mauritius.
Despite the huge advantage, Ghana coach Kim Lars Bjokogeren named a strong starting eleven for the return leg.
In the first half, Mauritius were pushed back into their area to defend in numbers as the Black Queens piled the pressure on them.
With the Queens’ firepower too much for the visitors, they led 3-0 at halftime with goals from Evelyn Badu, Portia Boakye, and Ajegipina Zakaria, putting them in control.
After the break, the hosts continued to dominate the contest and pushed forward in search of more goals.
Although they were frustrated by several missed chances, they finally added a fourth in the 73rd minute through substitute Benedicte Simon.
Later in the 86th minute, Jennifer Cudjoe scored from the spot to increase the lead before additional goals from Nancy Amoh and Mukarama Abdulai sealed the 7-0 demolition.
With a 10-0 aggregate victory, the Black Queens of Ghana have progressed to the third round of the 2028 Olympic Games.
