State-owned oil and gas companies earned Rs2.7 trillion in a decade

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) topped the list, recording cumulative profits of more than Rs1.25 trillion over the 10-year period.

According to the documents, OGDCL posted a record profit of Rs224.6 billion in fiscal year 2022-23, followed by Rs208.9 billion in 2023-24 and Rs169.9 billion in 2024-25.

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) ranked among the leading profit-generating companies, reporting cumulative profits of Rs620.3 billion over the past decade. Its annual profit stood at Rs114.3 billion in 2023-24 and Rs92 billion in 2024-25, according to the documents.

Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) recorded profits exceeding Rs377 billion over 10 years. Its annual profit amounted to Rs69.2 billion in 2023-24 and Rs48.5 billion in 2024-25.

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) earned cumulative profits of Rs218.7 billion during the 10-year period. The company recorded a profit of Rs86.2 billion in 2021-22, according to the documents.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) reported cumulative profits of Rs97.83 billion, while Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) earned more than Rs86 billion over the same period.

Meanwhile, Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) generated profits of Rs58.2 billion over eight years.

The figures highlight the cumulative financial performance of Pakistan’s state-owned oil and gas companies, with OGDCL and PPL accounting for substantial shares of the reported profits.
