KPLC Announces Planned Long Blackout Tomorrow: Check If You Will Be Affected

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions for parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, and Kirinyaga counties on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The power cuts will generally run between 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Nairobi, areas along Mombasa Road such as the Alpha Centre, Viraj Complex, and the Total Petrol Station opposite JKIA will be affected. Uasin Gishu will see outages in Lumama, Mugumu, Makutano Market, and surrounding areas, while Kirinyaga will experience interruptions in Gathigiriri and Karira, including Gathigiriri Prison, Karira Hospital, and local trading centers.

Kenya Power is carrying out scheduled system maintenance that will temporarily disrupt its telephone-based customer support.

Telephone calls to the contact centre will be unavailable for five hours from midnight to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 11. However, customers can still use alternative digital platforms like email, social media, the USSD code *977#, and the MyPower App during this time.
